I'm a 21 f from baltimore, md and a severe allergry suffer sincve age

8. It just seems to be getting worse every season! I get allergry

shots ( for 12 yrs. now) for pollen, grass, mold, ragweed and also

have severe reactions to smoke, dog and cat dandarf. Every day I

expereince some allergy symptoms, but when they become severe I get

so much mucus in my lungs and nose and have such a terrible time

getting it up! :( It usually takes at least a week and a whole lot of

hacking up mucus before I feel relief. I've tried so many inhalers,

steroids, (the white pills in the pack that u take for 7 days) and

nothing helps! My allergist says these take time but 2 weeks doesnt

sound right. I'm having another miserable attack now just because we

went to atlantic city for the weekend and spent a few hrs. in the

casino GRRRR!

I'm posting here b/c my allergist has NEVER suggested that I try

Xolair. I just phoned him today asking for some miracle medication,

ANYTHING. He just said to give it time and drink some robutussin,

which is like drinking water! Several hours later I found Xolair and

am quite intrigued.

Should I ask him if I am a candidate or would he have already

suggested it? I also understand that there aren't a such things as

smoke allergies but rather reactions, so would zolair help minimize

those kind of attacks? What about to animals? Would this mean me no

longer having to have allergy injections and 50 other meds. that I

can't when I cant breathe?

Sorry for all the questions, but I'm really interested! Thanks :)
