Hepatitis C Bill passes through Dáil30 June 2006 17:22 The controversial Hepatitis C Compensation Tribunal (Amendment) Bill 2006 has passed all stages in the Dáil.

The Bill is intended to give access to life insurance for those affected by contaminated blood products.

The Tánaiste and Minister for Health, Harney, defended the measure from claims that it would discriminate against some individuals, insisting she had to protect genuine claimants.
