Guest guest
I actually had very low IGE levels ( apparently that will happen in some folks with years of daily high dose steroids ie 60mg/day) and I still had a miracle within hours BUT the studies show it might take anyone as long as 6 months to show a change and the improvement is not always complete relief of symptoms. My personal " miracle " puts me back on the treatment charts for severe asthma; prior to Xolair I was (theoretically) supposed to be living in the ICU<vbg>...my asthma is not all allergy and Xolair does not address intrinsic asthma, but it seems to knock the socks off the allergy component for me. AND I have not sneezed in weeks! At the end of six months you and your doctor would need to decide if you have had enough improvement to justify the drug...the answer will not always be yes because asthma is a complicated problem. Good luck!
