Guest guest
Remember that we are all different, so what works for one might not work for you<vbg>. I take Advair 500 with a Flovent chaser, Atrovent, prednisone, Xolair and IVIG for the asthma; Nasacort AQ for a chronic sinus problem. I use albuterol in an HFA powered inhaler or in a neb when I am in trouble, which is rare since I started the Xolair. Never saw much change with Singulair. I take other meds, but they are for steroid side effects or my arthritis. Atrovent is an MDI (metered dose inhaler) or taken via nebulizer; it is really good for cough variant asthma but I don't know if it is useful otherwise. It really cuts down the amount of coughing I have. Main hassle with it is that it is a four times a day thing. On this regimen, with the Xolair, I can actually achieve near normal lung function and peak flow results. Without the Xolair I was pretty much technically in the red zone all the time. The IVIG reduced my overall steroid dose, kept me out of the hospital and allowed me to get by; with the Xolair I can actually party! Hope all goes well with your doc visit on Monday. My docs *expect* that my drug needs will change the longer I am on Xolair...as the damage from the long time inflammation heals lower doses or different meds might be required for best management. Good luck P. > > I'd like to know what meds others are taking and what kind of > results you have had with them. > > Thanks. > > Greg
