Guest guest
, The IgE that Xolair binds is still in your system, you continually make new IgE also. There is no test to determine between " free' and bound IgE. So, the # of IgE on the 2nd test shows what Xolair has bound and your new free floating IgE. Genentech, the manufacturer, says that IgE test should not be re-performed until patient is off Xolair for 1 year to get true IgE reading. Xolair can be given for your lifetime until we find a cure for allergies & asthma. Since we continually make IgE, I foresee the necessity to have it for atleast 2 years, then off until the amount of IgE is high enough to start symptoms again. Personally I am going to stay on it until a cure is found. Guest guest
I don't see any reason ever to go off Xolair either. Thank God for Xolair and Genentech. Addy > > __________________________________________________ >
Guest guest
i'd by no means come off xolair either. my dr did the IgE test for no other reason than she was curious. i was having other tests done, so she added that to the bloodwork. thanks for the answers heather pyle456 <coachmac@...> wrote: I don't see any reason ever to go off Xolair either. Guest guest
, Hope you get to feeling better soon. Are you allergic to pollen? Does it bother you less now that you are on Xolair? I guess what I'm trying to ask is does it bother you enough that you have to limit your activities because of it? I haven't had my IgE tested since Xoliar so I can't help you there. --- In , " heather " <heaven1975@y...> wrote: > > > with all of my immunity problems, my dr had my bloodwork done, > looking for IgG, IgM, IgA...you name it. she threw IgE in the mix > because she was curious. i knew after xolair, it was supposed to > increase, but it seemed to increase a lot. before xolair my IgE was > 716. now its 1197. is that much of a jump normal? the dr seemed > shocked that it jumped so much. i guess it doesn't much matter, > seeing as i'm on the highest xolair dosage approved.... > > the good (?) news is my immune system is working fine, its just > lazy. i've spent the last six weeks on biaxin, and will continue for > four more months. somehow, i've developed another sinus/resp > infection, so i'm on levaquin, on top of the biaxin. i almost wish > the immune system had something wrong with it, b/c it would be an > answer to why i have been so sick the last few years. > > i am looking forward to spring. generally, i'm not as sick with > these infections and only plauged by allergies. last spring was the > healthiest i've been in so long, and i can only thank xolair for > that. i can't wait to get on my mountain bike. =o) > > heather
