Guest guest
its nice to see i'm not the only one who is starting with arthritis before i should be. (not that i want anyone to have arthritis, but its nice to know its not just me!!) i'm doomed from the start, my mom and grandma both started with it at about 25. between that and my varicose veins (mom started with them at 18, i got them at 16) i look like an 85 year old woman, and i'm only 30!!! heather Caroline Marchionni <carrie72583@...> wrote: Ed, So I am not the only who became arthritic while tapering pred. I am tapering soooo slowly but I have loads of stiffness in my fingers and chronic back pain. A bit of swelling although nothing significant. My docs can't seem to explain it since there are no changes on xray. I take celebrex for the pain but I am taking a break from it to let my stomach rest (massive GERD etc...). Without celebrex I wake up feeling like I am 90! (I am only 28!). What do you do that helps with it? Anything? How slow was your taper? Everybody has barriers and obstacles. If you look at them as containing fences that don't allow you to advance, then you're going to be a failure. If you look at them as hurdles that strengthen you each time you go over one, then you're going to be a success. Guest guest
My mom and my grandmother both have/had osteoporosis and arthritis. I'm sure that since arthritis is an inflammatory disease there also has to be an arthritis-asthma link...I wonder if any scientists out there are studying that. Don't remember the taper details - it's been over a year since I had to really take any significant amounts of pred. Basically trying to ignore the arthritis symptoms and wear fairly comfortable shoes; alternate shoes; drink lots of water; etc. Pain is manageable with OTC meds at this point.
