Guest guest
I'd like to " ditto " what Doug said and add that I am very glad with the way the group is progressing in terms of building a positive community spirit. It's a privilege and a joy to be associated with all of you and to be able to share what it is like to have such a chronic, sometimes debilitating disease with folks who really understand what living with asthma is like. Guest guest
I agree with you Addy. It has been a challenging spring for me. My asthma has been triggering and in March the 10 I lost my older brother. He died two weeks before the Holy Father and died of the same septic shock and cardiac arrest. He has colon cancer and did not know it. He went in with a possible appendix and it ended up to be a perferated colon and when the doctors opened him they found a tumor and the lymth nods were cancer. He did not recover from the surgery because of the toxic poisons weekened his heart. My 3 sisters were in the waiting room and the doctors were talking to them and was called back because he went into spasms. Right now I am doing much better. The Easter flowers and inscense and perfume just got to my asthma and I was in the hospital from April 5 until 11. I left just in time they were starting to do construction and changing doors at the hospital which would have triggered the asthma also. A reminder to check the lung association for Asthma walk a thons in your areas. The one for Chicago and Metro area is September 18, 2005. Guest guest
Sister , I am sorry to hear that your family lost your beloved brother. It's amazing to me how people can be walking around riddled with cancer and not know it until so close to the end. I know you were frustrated to end up in the hospital again. I hope you are feeling better now. I made the mistake of visiting a church with which I was not familiar two weeks after Easter - and found myself exposed to incense. I think it is vile stuff and don't see how it's liturgical properties justify continued use of it in this day and age. Oh, well. Take good care, Addy
