Guest guest
, Since my wife is pregnant I have been doing a lot of reading up on pregnancy and one of the things I read is that after the baby is born women will lose hair for a short time. I dont suppose you just had a baby??? Other than that, no ideas here! Guest guest
No, my last child was born 7 years ago. But thank you very much! I've had some e-mails saying it could be prednisone/steroid side effects, some saying to have my thyroid checked and others still saying that it could be stress related. I genuinely appreciate the thought! I'll keep it in mind if I ever have another baby! (*wink*) Much thanks, -------Original Message------- From: aaron101810 Date: 05/09/05 16:28:42 Subject: [ ] Re: Hair loss? , Since my wife is pregnant I have been doing a lot of reading up on pregnancy and one of the things I read is that after the baby is born women will lose hair for a short time. Guest guest
No hair loss for me. I do notice a change in my hair when I have to use albuterol by nebulizer a lot. > > > Hey everybody! > > I got my 3rd set of Xolair injections on Friday and I have a random question > for all of you that have been on it for a while. > > All of a sudden in the last 6 weeks (since I started taking Xolair) my hair > is coming out in small clumps. Guest guest
, I am having dificulty with hairloss and male baldness is not in my family. It's been diagnosed as alopecia areata, which I believe is a catch-all for loss of hair that can not be explained. I've been going to a dermatologist and getting cortisone injections in my scalp which help the various bald spots. But, there is also a general thinning of my hair going on. The hairloss coincides with the beginning of the Xolair injections. I have been taking Prozac for quite awhile and my psychiatrist thinks it is due to the lowering levels of dopamine in my system. I guess Prozac, if taken for a long time can increase your seretonin, but paradoxically lowers your levels of dopamine. He said the decreased levels of dopamine is most likely the cause. To offset the Prozac, I'm now taking Wellbutrin also to increase the levels of dopamine and norepenephrine. Just my experience. Good luck. > > > Hey everybody! > > I got my 3rd set of Xolair injections on Friday and I have a random question > for all of you that have been on it for a while. > > All of a sudden in the last 6 weeks (since I started taking Xolair) my hair > is coming out in small clumps. Guest guest
Dear : I asked my doctor about my hair thinning and he said that's not one of the side effects, but, maybe now it is.....I don't know what to do. My tests show that my breathing has improved dramatically. I've been getting the shots for three months now. Kathy Currier <redsoxkitten@...> wrote: Hey everybody! All of a sudden in the last 6 weeks (since I started taking Xolair) my hair is coming out in small clumps. By clumps I mean it's coming out all the time in bunches of 10-12 strands. When I take a shower I'm HORRIFIED at what is sitting atop the drain. Just running my fingers through my hair will bring out clumps of hair. I haven't noticed any actual bald SPOTS, it's really kind of just coming out all over, not in one set spot. I can however say that my hair is already thinning. I've had extremely thick hair all my life and all of a sudden it s thinning RAPIDLY. Has anyone else experienced this? I'll admit the timing may just be a coincidence with the Xolair, but I thought I'd ask. If not the Xolair, do you know of any medical conditions or medications that will have significant hair loss as a side effect? I'm getting worried! Thanks for any help you can give! ~
