Guest guest
Xolair probably will not get covered by Medicare, but your secondary may cover it. Ask your physician if he can send the rx to another pharmacy to see if they can help. I can't tell you to send it to me to help, but if it comes to my pharmacy I'll try my best to get it for you at much less if I can not get it covered under insurance. Guest guest
GULP is right! thats a lot of $$ to spend a month. i've heard of people contacting novartis or genentech about xolair, and getting it either free or significantly cheaper. maybe that is an option. good luck! heather peter pool <p3pool@...> wrote: My Physician contacted Nova Factor one of the Xolair pharmacies and they contacted me and offered Xolair at $3,000 a month. I need injections at the maximun dose every two weeks. When I gulped they offered to contact United Health Care (AARP Health Care Options for Medicare ) to check what my policy would cover and would get back to me. I have not heard from them in a week. Can any of you offer me any advice. If I have to pay $36,000 a year to feel better it's worth it but mine and my wife's life style will have to change dramatically and there is a certain amount of guilt associated with it. Can any of you offer me some advice? Will Xolair be covered under the Medicare Prescription benefit starting in January? Guest guest
Well. i just joined this group and just getting ready for my first injection this coming week. money was for sure an issue. even with decent insurance, however i went straight through xolair and was able to get it all including my 500.00 major medical deductible covered at 100%. i had to have my physician fill out a form, copy of my check stub and income tax from last year. it too about a month to process, but completely covered. so if you go to the xolair web page and go to the " single point of contact " have them send you a package and see what happens...good luck. Guest guest
Dear : My insurance was paying for Xolair. I am now on Medicare and they are paying for it. You have to find a doctor that supplies and then bills Medicare will only do it under those conditions. Talk to the sales rep. for Xolair that supplies Xolair for your current doctor, they'll put you in touch with a supply and bill doctor.
