Guest guest
Hello Nick, I live in the Netherlands and I also want to be on Xolair. I mailed Novartis the European factory for xolair. They told me that Xolair will be expected in 2006. Before this time importing Xolair is illegal unless you have special docters approvement. this includes a statement that no other available medicine helps to releave your symptoms. I guess that you already being on Xolair you'll have absolutely no trouble in getting the special doctors prescription. Regards, Edgar > Hey everyone...new here...I've been on Xolair for more than 1 calendar year now, and I > really want to keep getting it...here is my dilemma: I have a great job opportunity in > Europe which would require me to work out of a European office for 1 year (next year)...I > can't seem to find if Xolair's European Union approval was granted yet...so how can I get > my Xolair in Europe...is this even possible? Guest guest
Hi Pat, Thank you so much for the great news! I had just tried to ask my doktor to try and get me on xolair. She wrote me that she had read that Xolair increases the risk of having cancer and that it also increases the risk for infections of the airways. I think she misinterpeted some of the information, because I understood that the people recieving xolair didn't show significantly more side effects than the control group. I also understood that the difference in cancer rates between the xolair and coltrol group was quite small and that it could have been due to coincidence. Well, my doctor seems quitre hesitant to have me on xoliar and she believes that chances are that the drug will not be allowed in Europe. If it will be allowed however she won't be hesitant anymore. So I just can't wait for it being allowed. Regards, Edgar > Thank you Edgar for posting. You don't have too laong to wait now! Hopefully it will be first quarter of the year, not last. > > I have 3 patients that live part of the year in Italy/Spain/Great Britain and the US. They take their Xolair with them when they go home. They pay cash for it and get reimbursed somehow through the insurance in their countries. > > Pat > > > > --------------------------------- > Start your day with - make it your home page > >
