Last Friday, I had a huge sinus infection, larengitis and 101 temp. They won't even give me a REGULAR allergy shot when I have any kind of infection. Remember, My doctor is very picky! After 5 days of horse pill Augmentin, I am doing GREAT and will get my Xolair tomorrow. Doug
Guest guest
As a nurse, I wouldn't give you the xolair when your temperature is 101 degrees. Your body is working too hard when you have a fever, you don't need to make it work harder at that time. Your temperature of 99 degrees was fine. Please don't withhold information from your nurse or physician. Most physicians will let you have the injection if your temperature is under 100.8. Guest guest
I get my temp checked. Its been fine so far. I have shown up in a massive flare (resp rate um 35!!) and still gotten my shot (I told the nurse not to freak, this happened a lot, it was hot, I walked up stairs...well I told her this in btw gasps!!). Anyway, I asked about the temp thing and she said she wasnt sure since she had just started the whole xolair thing and was still reading the massive " how to be a xolair nurse " manual. I will ask next time I see her and let you know. BUT the Canadian program seems to be VERY strict (ie 2 hr wait time post injection!) so they may be strict too about temp. What is the logic behind their decision? Maybe ask the doc? __________________________________________________
