Guest guest
Sure! Depends how long you have been taking 20mg. Lungs get used to doses of pred very quickly and get very unhappy if you cut them. That is what makes tapering a challenge. For example, I tapered quickly from 20 to 15 mg after only 3 days at 20mg and now I have a set of VERY unhappy lungs. Sooo, obviously contact your doc presto but you can suggest to him that you slow down the taper. Instead of going 20 mg then 15mg, alternate one day 20mg, the next day 17.5 mg for a couple of days. Then cut to 17.5 mg for a while, then alternate 17.5 one day with 15 mg the next etc..... The slower the taper, the less likely the rebound wheezing. Hope this helps, __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Ron, The prednisone taper in different for every one. If you have been on Prednisone for a long while, the taper should be long, not just 1 week. It is too aggressive, talk to your md about your symptoms and ask for a slower taper. Be proactive with your own health, you are the one who knows your body best. The physician has all kinds of knowledge but you know your own body best. Good luck.
