Guest guest
i'm posting everywhere. i'm just trying to get answers. short version - i'm an imsomniac. i've been a poor sleeper since i was about 7. i went through a sleep study last year, which determined medical factors were not a cause. my suitcase of meds do not effect my sleep, or actually lack of sleep. i can usually adjust to the 3- 6 month span of poor sleep (poor sleep = 3-4 hours a night, often waking between 3 and 4 AM and starting my day). between periods of poor sleep, i usually go 3- 4 weeks of decent sleep. for some reason, i just cannot seem to adjust to the poor sleep this time. there are nights where i sleep up to 5-6 hours, but i wake up feeling more exhausted then i did when i went to bed. (my sleep hygiene is good). i make a special point to stay caffine free. does anyone have any experience with sleeping pills? i've been offered them by the sleep therapist i had to see, but i said no thanks. he gave me some pointless relaxation exercises, and they do nothing but entertain me while i'm awake. i'm so afraid of the sleeping pills and their effect on my asthma, in addition to other things. seeing as i'm actually considering sleeping pills, i know i'm at the end of my rope. i'm so tired, i can't function, can't pay attention, feel so " un-alert " and i am having trouble focusing my eyes on anything. any words of wisdom are appreciated. heather
