Guest guest
The temp here in Northwest Arkansas is in the upper 90's with the humidity extremely high as well. Last Saturday I had to go on a burst of Pred. I started out at 40 mg and am now down to 5 mg. I plan to stop tomorrow. My doctor says that when I get these " spells " to go on a 40 mg burst and taper down. Since I have been on the Xolair, this is only the 2nd time I have had to do this. My asthma is chronic and every day. I consider myself having an " attack " when my updrafts do not work. Then it's pred burst time. My mother in law is 79 years old and has " occasional " attacks. She uses her combivent inhailer and she is ok for a few more weeks or months. Must be nice..........sigh! Last year at this time I was NOT on Xolair yet. My asthma was so bad that I could NOT get off a daily 40mg or higher doese of Pred and had one hospitalization. Thank you Xolair!!!! Even though I am still having some problems, I am still MUCH better Doug
