Guest guest
Prednisone supresses your adrenals & pancreas so I am sure over the years of it, that it caused the diabetes or if you had a family history 'pushed you over the edge'. Keep vigilant with your nebulizer for the bronchitis, the antibiotics will take care of the pharyngitis. Increase your fluids, especially water, decrease caffeine to help " flush " your system, but please Doug, if you are not better in a few days, call the doctor back. __________________________________________________

You must be an allergy nurse or physician's assistant. Thanks for helping us out here with your knowledge Diabetes is not in my family but asthma and hyperactivity are. I asked my allergist about pred. He said that if I had to have it, he would insist that i take it, but for only a " burst and taper. " Well, I am not THAT bad yet and won't get there if I can help it! I was running a low grade fever last night. Once this Amox kicks in, I will be much better Doug
Guest guest
You are absolutely right to be as aggressive as you can in treating this bug without using pred. I hope you feel better soon. Let us know if you have to resort to pred or not. Take care, Addy > > > Well gang, I now have larengitis and brohchitis. It is effecting my > asthma too. Guest guest
I absolutely agree about cutting out any caffeine - it is dehyrdating! I know my immune system is shot from taking too much pred. (Not to mention the bone loss already evident at age 37.) I'm doing everything I can not to take it anymore, including leaving a stressful job around lots of young children, plenty of germs and an old moldy building. We must be vigilant if we are to be well. Thank God for Xolair. Guest guest
Doug, Hope you get to feeling better. I think I'm going to have to call my Doctor Monday to get something for my cold. It is moving down into my lungs and I'm getting larangitis too. I'm down to 10mg of pred every 3rd day, I want off that stuff. I'm going to do everything I can so I don't have to increase it.- - In , " Rev.
