Xolair side effects?

Hi. I'm wondering if anyone has experienced any flu-like feelings (without

the actual flu) from Xolair. I feel hot, terribly achey, exhausted, my eyes

hurt, etc. I'm not sneezing or coughing or doing anything that would suggest

actual flu, but I feel pretty miserable. I had my first shot a week ago.

Has anyone had this?

Thanks,

Meryl

Meryl,

I have been on Xolair since September of 2003 and have NEVER had any

problems like that. I think it just might really be a flu bug.

Of course, this is ONLY my opinion. Ask your doctor for his/her

advice.

Thanks, and Doug. I guess I'm hoping it's NOT the flu. ;)

I spoke with a nurse from NovaFactor, the company that provides the Xolair

to me (through my doctor's office). She said that while it's not common, some

people (about eight percent) do experience body aches and that combined with

the more common side effect of headache and sinus pain, it may add up to feeling

like flu-like symptoms. She said that it usually only happens with the first

two doses. So, I'm hoping it will pass soon. (If it doesn't, I guess I'm

getting the flu after all...)

Thanks,

Meryl

i think doug is right. you might have actually caught a bug of some

sort making you feel so flu-ish. the only reaction i had from xolair

was some soreness that day at the injection site.

you may want to contact your dr, let her know how you feel.

i hope you feel better.
