Guest guest
Does that make any physiological sense? How are you degranulating mast cells if IgE cannot bind? I thought the whole point was that the allergic response was truncated?? How does your allergist explain it? ps never heard of that one... __________________________________________________
Guest guest
, I don't think ALL IgE is bound up by Xolair. If so, those who are allergic wouldn't continue to have allergies, and most of us seem to. I've only been on Xolair for four months, and I'm still quite allergic. (I'm hoping this will improve as more IgE is bound up by the Xolair.) I take high doses of allegra, chlorpheniramine, Zantac (an H-2 blocker), and Ketotifen (an antihistamine and mast cell stabilizer) and still find myself suffering if I leave the windows open. Also, some stimuli degranulate mast cells directly without IgE involvement. These can include aspirin, physical stimuli (such as heat or cold), some antibiotics, friction, and numerous other things. I've never heard of Bromfed either. Best, Meryl Does that make any physiological sense? How are you degranulating mast cells if IgE cannot bind? She takes a pediatric dose. It is a sustained release capsule. The active ingredients are brompheniramine and psuedoephedrine. Yes, it is older. Good luck Jay
Guest guest
Hi, I have been using Bromfed since they took trinalin of the market. It works fine for me. I am also on Allegra or Allegra D. When I was in the hospital in the end of March and begining of April. My doctor gave me something stronger but since I have been out of the hospital I have been back on the two meds. Guest guest
, I have come to the conclusions that antihistamines don't work for me any more. I mean seriously. I don't know if it is a function of the Xolair or a function of me taking them for 30 years or both. What is still helping with my nasal symptoms is Rescon MX. This is a combo drug made up of a little anthistamine, a lot of sudafed, and an anticholinergic. In combination with my ICS nasal inhaler and a little mucinex if necessary, it's especially effective. I'm done spending money on anthistamines until the next new thing comes out.
