Guest guest
oh addy, that stinks! i was a week late during the summer and i was nothing but miserable. it shows how well xolair does work! i can relate to the sinus problems. the xolair helps mine, but doesn't make them totally go away. its interesting you mention it, b/c my ENT is trying to get a test group approved to use xolair for extreme sinus disease (he was overly excited that i was on it already - he wanted me in his sinus group - so he was asking me a half hour of questions!) i hope the sinus rinses are helping. i wish there was a sure fire cure. i didn't think that the xolair stopped your body from making IgE, i thought it just bound up the IgE after it was produced making it non- functional. hmmm..guess i was way off base on that one. feel better heather > > > I am late getting my Xolair. Guest guest
It's getting worse.... Thanks, . You are right - Xolair binds to the IgE so it can't bind to the mast cell. As we make new IgE it needs new Xolair to bind to apparently. Doug, maybe you could get your Xolair nurse to post about this so we know we understand this right. At any rate, I couldn't get my Xolair today, either. My Xolair nurse was out of the office last week and my order didn't come in. She called my specialty pharmacy today and they will have it to her by 9am tomorrow. As a result, I have mild asthma symptoms this evening. Augh. , I will be very interested to learn if your ENT gets permission to test a group with severe sinus disease. I am serious when I say that Xolair has improved my sinus outcomes 110%. This was my most serious issue - severe allergies would set my sinuses off first, and the drainage would usually trigger the asthma. By intervening in the allergic process, Xolair has really given my sinuses a break. this is the first round of headaches I have had in a while, and certainly the first serious headache in months. I used to have headaches daily from my sinuses.. Take care everyone Addy
Guest guest
oh my goodness, addy -- i can't belive that you still haven't gotten your xolair. i wish i hadn't given my xolair back to my dr - you could have had it! i ended up with an extra months worth b/c in my changeover of insurance, BOTH companies sent it out. i'm glad you'll have it tomorrow. what a relief. i'm going to ask my ENT on friday how he is coming with his potential study and whatnot. it definately is interesting. since xolair starting in jan 04, this is only my third sinus infection -- and i have not yet needed the sinu-neb! (well, this time i might, i don't think the 2 weeks of cipro knocked this one out). since i can't think on the spot all the time, i'm making a list of questions (regarding xolair) for my ENT. if anyone has something to add, by all means... feel better addy! heather > > > It's getting worse.... > > Thanks, .
