i also have pretty intense atopic dermatitis (eczema) since i was a

few days old. i think xolair has helped. two years ago (before

xolair) i got a cortisone shot which helped my eczema a lot. from

jan when i started xolair until july my eczema was great. i had an

ugly flare the end of august, but i think that was more stress

induced, which made me more vulnerable to the allergens.

do you use ointments/cremes (dumb question -- of course you do).

what do you use? i've had pretty good luck with protopic, just FYI.

my dermo has me use it, flare or not, 4-7 times a week to keep

things under control. nice thing is, its not a steroid ointment!

about half the time i'm on pred for my skin, when i come off it, i

have some weird bounce back reaction.

good luck. glad you started the xolair !

Ron,

I have only ever had very mild problems with allergic dermatitis

EXCEPT when gardening in the flower bed in my front yard. Something

in there has given me very severe allergic reactions. Since Xolair,

I have been able to do pretty much whatever I want with very little

reaction. I have been in that bed twice without any allergic skin

responses. Xolair has improved my allergic rhinitis and sinus

symptoms miraculously.

Good luck. Thanks for joining and keep us posted as to how you are

doing.
