Guest guest
Hi, all. I finally got to see my pulmo today. I am still having trouble daily, especially at night with coughing. All the phlegm coming up is loose and clear. Well, my pulmo switched me to Xopenex (thank you, Doug) to see if I could tolerate it better and told me to neb each evening for the next few to see if that helps with the night symptoms. He has ordered a CT scan to see if maybe my sinus infection is still there and I need a 6-week antibiotic course. If the Xopenex doesn't help and/or I don't show any infection on the CT scan, then he's talking about putting me on temporary disability. He's thinking that I am being exposed to too much allergen in the old building I work in and that my free-floating IgE might be really high right now. Needless to say, I'm somewhat depressed. Genentech can, by the way, isolate free-floating IgE from bound IgE in the research lab and they are apparently trying to find a way that local labs could measure them separately so that Xolair dosages could be adjusted after a patient has been on Xolair for a while. My doc communicates with Genentech pretty regularly. I told him that if they need a lab rat I'd be happy to fly to San Francisco! That's about it. I can't remember who asked about Humana...I have BCBS. , I hope your Ketek arrives. That was the last antibiotic I took...I thought it was pretty good.
