Guest guest
I get my shots once a month. I noticed a improvement after the third shot. It became effortless to breathe. I could not remember when breathing felt this easy. I have relief all month long. I have had 6 shots so far. With the shots, I no longer have to take prednisone daily. I have been prednisone free for the past month without any flare ups. I think everyone reacts to the drug differently due to body chemistry, allergies, IgE levels, etc. For some people in the group it took 6-12 months to be effective. So please be patient and give it time. Good luck with it. Guest guest
hi. i just wanted to answer your question about the once a month injections vs every 2 week injections. the xolair dosage is calculated according to your weight and your IgE. i forget the actual numbers, but if you have a higher IgE, you will need more shots. my IgE is quite high, so i get three shots every two weeks. if you look here http://www.xolair.com/hcp/dosing.jsp you can see the dosing chart and how its all figured out. hope this helps! heather > > > Do any of you who are on Xolair only once per month feel a steady > relief all month long or is it wearing off after a week or two? Guest guest
Xolair actually has a half-life of 21 days, what you are feeling is perfectly noemal. If you were on Prednisone, your IgE could have been falsely low. Since Xolair is dosed by weight & Ige, you might be getting " under dosed " . Ask your physician about it. Guest guest
This makes sense - I have been going further between doses to make my current supply last longer while I get new insurance. I seem to see more of an increase in symptoms at the end of the third week than I do at the end of the 2nd week. (I usually get my shots every 2 weeks but I've been stretching them to 3-4 weeks).
