Subject: I have a question Date: Wed, 28 May 2003 13:23:02 -0400 Hi. My name is Kellie Mac. The reason why I am writing to you is to request information regarding breast implants. My friend wants to have this done, and I am trying to convince her that the risks are insurmountable. Could you please direct me to places on the internet where I can find this kind of data? It seems that "mainstream" still has not woken up, in my opinion. I read your comments on Dr. Mercola's website. Thank you for sharing what you did and for you efforts in getting the truth out there. Thank you very much. Sincerely, Kellie Mac MSN 8 helps ELIMINATE E-MAIL VIRUSES. Get 2 months FREE*.
Guest guest
As most of you know, I have been on Xolair since September of 2003. About a year after being on it, I started breaking out in small itchy spots all over my body. They look like scabs for a few days, then they heal up. Some have left small scars. I asked my doctor if the Xolair was the cause and he said it was highly doubtful. I am on a lot of other medications too but they aren't supposed to cause skin problems like this either. Anyone else have any probs like this? Just wondering, Doug

Guest guest
My skin spots turned out to be Psorysis and had nothing to do with the xolair. Doug
Guest guest
Definitely interesting! I'm glad your son is doing well. Do you know if he had high IgE titres prior to Xolair? If not, why did the doctor decide to go with Xolair? Does your son's doctor think he can stop anytime soon? How old is your son, and does he have any autoimmune conditions? Sorry for the nosy questions, but it would help!! Thanks, Lior > > > > > > As most of you know, I have been on Xolair since September of > 2003. > > About a year after being on it, I started breaking out in small > itchy > > spots all over my body. Guest guest
I know this is about xolair, but what I have found so interesting is how many health-related issues there are for people with asthma/allergies and yet I get the distinct feeling that the majority of us go on with our lives in spite of the irritating (and sometimes almost debilitating) health issues we live with. Thank God and the provisions made through medical science/medicines, we are able to live and function in a somewhat reasonable fashion. Before my asthma hit with a vengeance in my late 40's I was very healthy--took NO medicine except maybe a sinus tablet rarely. I never thought I took my health for granted, but now I certainly appreciate deeply the days when I really feel good and can accomplish a whole lot. And I say Thank you God for each breath I'm able to take because of the medicines provided! I've lived long enough to see great advances in the treatment of asthma. I can still remember a time when my younger sister, who had asthma as a baby, used a hand-pumped spray (nebulizer) with medicine (asthmanephrine was it's name, I think) in it that stained everything it touched brown! And even bleach would not remove the stain. She also took Tedral, later as a teenager. I'm thankful for the advances that have been made in the diagnosis and treatment of asthma, especially xolair. That being said, I believe that medical science still has a long way to go in the diagnosis and treatment of lung conditions. Guest guest
Yes, his IgE levels were high. At the age of 11, he was prescribed Xolair because he literally could not breathe anymore because of his allergic conditions. He was allergic to all sorts of foods and the environment that caused him to have severe asthma. He had round wheals (Urticaria) most of the time. This was the release of IgE mast cells that caused angiodema and hives. At that time, we had no other choice but to try Xolair (FDA approved for Allergic Asthma), and thank God it was a miracle drug for him. He is 14 now and DRIVING! That is my biggest fear now. The doctor is in hopes that by his senior year, he can stop Xolair. The doctors at Children's Hospital assures me that Xolair did not cause his diabetes. They say that he was so allergic that possibly that it was a self-allergy (autoimmunity). However, diabetes was in my family. I understand about the questions. You may e-mail me if you like.
