Hello...I am new to the group and would like to introduce myself. My

name is and I have been suffering from allergies / asthma

for exactly one year now. I have always had seasonal allergies and

have been on Nasonex and Singular forever. One year ago, I suddenly

develop chest tightness and breathing issues. After much testing for

everything, I learn I have GERD, asthma, and a variety of

environmental allergies.

Absolutely, no medication had been giving me relief from the daily

symptoms. All inhalers gave me thrush, only the albuteral gives me

mimimal relief. The long and short of my story is that my allergist

did the blood test, my IGE level was 174, my insurance approved the

Xolair in two days, and I had my first two injections 3 1/2 weeks

ago. My schedule is two injections every month (30 days). The day

following my first injection I felt the first sense of relief after

over one year of symptoms. My chest tightness was lessened and I

felt " almost normal " for approximately 8-9 days or so. Then a steady

decline began and my symptoms returned. Of course having felt so

great for 8-9 days, now I feel so much worse forgetting that this is

how bad I felt before the first injection. So, I have my next two

shots in two days and I cannot wait! I will mention that I read a

Xolair study which indicated that the " first set of injections peak

after 7 days " and then the second set does a more steady rise for 10-

14 days or so. I think that is why so may Xolair users feel great

sometimes for a week or so after the shot and then begin to decline.

I imagine that after the Xolair builds up in the system, it will

last the full time span between injections. Has anyone found that? I

have my fingers crossed for all of us......
