Guest guest
Hello Thank you to the organizers who set up this forum for Xolair. It is great to hear about the succes stories for a change. I hope I will benefit from Xolair, too! I am not asking for sympathy, but allergies, hives, asthma, and the stress have made me a non-functional, dull person. It is extremely depressing, in a nutshell. I have a small daughter and I can not go outside or work. I don't dare go to a zoo, or even to a local park because of the trouble I get. My husband works 12 to 14 hours just to support me and get insurance. He is fed up too. Normal things that people take for granted are off limits to me. Going to get the mail or driving one mile from my house is a major accomplishment. Decent sleep is a rare commodity, too. For me, there are two seasons, pollen/mold season and bronchitis season. I am a walking pharmacy with 2 different antihistamines, zantac and oral steroids, advair, inhalers, nasal sprays, saline nasal sprays, etc. I don't blame my inlaws for hating me - I am always fighting bronchitis or allergies when they visit us. I feel alone in this battle for my life. I have a million questions that I don't feel like asking the physician or nurses about Xolair. (At least not yet.) If I take Xolair, and stop it suddenly, is there a worsening of allergy/asthma symptoms? Is this a permanent cure for asthma? I think it only works only as long as one takes Xolair, and will not result in any permanant cure, maybe. ( When oral or topical steroids are suddenly stopped or tapered off, my allergy and asthma symptoms can get WORSE than ever!!) Has anyone become accidentally pregnant while on Xolair? What do you do then? Is Xolair safe for the developing child or while lactating? It is so new that these problems may have not been encountered yet. I don't mean to sound ignorant or too verbose, but growing up my teachers always said there are no dumb questions. Please enlighten me! Forgive me if this is too long. I am unfamiliar w/ the group etiquette other than not advertising, inappropriate language, rudeness - which I have no time for or will ever do! Thanks, G.M.
