Guest guest
hi ellen. since starting xolair, the occurance (for me) of URIs has decreased significantly. i'm currently dealing with a URI/sinus infection now, but i do not think its at all related to xolair. (it all starts in my sinuses - i have significant sinus disease - and travels south to the lungs). are the allergy shots new to you? is it a possibility your URIs are starting out as a slight allergic reaction to the allergy shots? since xolair takes a while to " kick in " , maybe the xolair is not yet effective enough to combat the allergy shots. i hope you feel better. keep us posted heather > > > hello everyone, > i've been taking xolair for six months now and i must say that i'm a > little concerned that its causing far too many upper respirtory > infections. i've recently asked my pharmacist to print out the > number of times i've been on prednisone and antibiotics since i > started taking xolair (i also take bi-weekly allergy shots) and i'm > starting to see a pattern. has anyone else experienced such results? > > Ellen from Boston
Guest guest
Hi there , I have been getting the allergy shots for some time now-they have always worked for me in terms of allergic reactions. I too have severe sinus problems and get lots of infections as well. I went to the pharmacy to get a printout of side effects of the xolair and one of them is URI's-unfortunately-i'm seeing my doc on friday and i'm going to discuss all of this. I'm also trying to keep track of the number of times i'm on antibiotics and preds. I really appreciate the fact that this site is available to all of us. I'll keep you posted and thanks for responding to me and how long have you been getting xolair?
