Guest guest
My pulmo has been to San Francisco a couple of times to conferences about Xolair sponsored by Genentech. First of all, he says all the folks there are incredibly bright and very nice. I asked him about the possibility of some folks with really high IgE or with very persistent problems getting higher doses of Xolair. He said that at the present time the problem is the quantity of serum one would have to take to get any greater benefit. They are trying to find a way to compact Xolair without it either becoming unstable or " denatured " which I think means useless. Since the serum is currently so thick, volume is a real issue. My doc also said that the goal is to get the patient to a free IgE level of less than 10. They are able to measure this at the research lab but have not found a way to make a commercial lab test that could be patented and sold. I'm doing a little better, but it is day to day. Yesterday was terrible. Today was ok. Take care all, Addy
