Welcome Kathie!

If you're symptomatic - read some of the ladies

stories - Medicare should take them out. It would cost

them more for you to stay sick!

The main thing you need to confirm is that your doctor

will remove your implants " en bloc " if at all possible

.. . . and use drains following surgery.

We have a number of messages here that explain why

this is necessary. If your doctor gives you any flack

about it, show him some of the messages.

If the capsules aren't removed, you could remain ill

and require further surgery.

Hugs,

Rogene

Lots of our listed plastic surgeons will not take medicare for this

procedure. Last I knew, Dr. Huang was taking it, but I have not spoken to

her lately.

When I first got Part D, I had a $600 'credit' and no monthly premium. I

thought we had hit the lottery! The only problem I've found is hitting that

dreaded 'donut-hole' where I have to pay full price with no help from

Medicare. You've got to keep up with your expenditures and keep them added

so you don't spend too much. One thing I found out that when I went to

WalMart for meds, if they were covered under the $4 plan, the scripts would

still be charged to my Part D, making a big hole for me at the end of the

year. Even the meds need to be watched. My GP wrote a script for antibiotics

that were $170 for 7 pills! The $4 meds worked just fine after I suggested a

change of brand. You've got to watch it all.

Dennis, I don't have the Medicare supplementary insurance, so don't

have to worry about that stupid donut hole. For generics, I have to pay

a $10 co-pay. I get three of my meds at WalMart for $4 each per month.

I just don't go through my insurance. Does WalMart need to know that

you have insurance? I don't think so.

I agree anyone in doubt should call, but Medicare is for those retired

on Social Security or who have been getting SSDI for 2 years. Income

and resources do not matter for Medicare.

Medicaid is for people of vary low income and resources of any age,

including those on SSI.

Many states now have insurance programs for people just over the

Medicaid levels.
