Guest guest
Ron, There are more than a couple of us who give ourselves the shots. You definitely want to do the first round either in the doc's office or in the presence of a nurse. Good luck! Addy
Guest guest
I have been on prednisone, this time, for about 6 months straight. 20 mg a day. The Dr wanted me to cut back, but when I did I could not breath. I have a lot of side effects from the prednisone. They failed to deliver the Xolair so my shots regimen is delayed until it arrives. Welcome to the group I was on Pred on and off for at least 3 years before starting my Xolair shots in 2003. It took 6 months before I saw any asthma relief, then another 6 months to totally get off prednisone. Some people get quick relief after the first few shots and others get relief after 6 months to a year. Each person is different. Give it some time. I have been in your shoes and know exactly where you are coming from my friend. Doug Group founder
Guest guest
Ron, I was on 60mg/day of pred, so I could breathe. Started tapering off as soon as I started Xoliar in Oct 2004 and have been pred free for almost 4 weeks. I can still breathe and am able to do alot more. Remember it takes awhile for the Xolair to work, so Don't give up. I had alot of the side effects from pred too. So glad to be off it. I get my shots at the Doctors office, but they are teaching me to give my own and soon I will be doing it myself. Good Luck -- - In , Carpenter <cowtrail@c...> wrote: > > I have been on prednisone, this time, for about 6 months straight. 20 > mg a day.
