Guest guest
, I had severe flu-like symptoms after my first two sets of injections. I had a milder, shorter-lasting version of these side effects the third time, and so far, don't seem to be having them at all after the fourth shot. I talked to a nurse who works for NovaFactor (which I think is a pharmaceutical distributor for Genentech) and she said that my side effects were probably related to the drug, but she thought it was likely that they'd diminish over time, since most of the reported side effects seemed to do so. I decided to hang in and continue, and so far it seems to be true that the severity and frequency of the side effects have diminished quite a bit. Meryl I just had my xolair injection on friday. I felt great saturday and sunday. Monday I woke up sick with some kind of viral or sinus infection. Today I woke up and I lost my hearing in both my ears, my asthma is buggin me, my sinuses hurt terribly, and I can't talk. Am I crazy or is the xolair making me sick? Before you say anything you should know that I was sick about 6 weeks ago and I was on antibiotics and pregnizone. Whatever I had lasted for 4 weeks but then I was fine. They wouldn't have given me the xolair on friday if I wasn't. I ironically finished my last antibiotic on sunday. Is this just a coincidence or is this a side effect? I called the drug company and they said its possible. I called my doctor and he said that none of his 13 patients on it have reported this. Great. I don't know if I want the xolair if its going to make me sick every time I take it. It's not worth it.
Guest guest
, I continued to have repeated infections the first three months I was on Xolair, not due to Xolair but b/c I couldn't get out of the prednisone-antibiotic cycle. My immune system was weak. Like most everyone here, I can't just catch a cold. If a cold went around the office, within 48 hours I was on pred and antibiotics again. There is a very small chance what you are experiencing can be attributed to the Xolair but it is more likely that you've picked up a bug and your system is having a hard time with that. I hope it's not the Xolair. Keep talking with your doctor about it. Addy --- In , " " <cascadiaclimber@y...> wrote: > > > I just had my xolair injection on friday. I felt great saturday and > sunday. Guest guest
I mentioned before that *I* found the whole adrenal glandulars to cause a problem because of too much adrenaline in them. I'm not the only person to have reported this I found whole glandulars to cause *Me* anxiety. My money'd be on the NAX, if it were me, i'd look at a cortex only supplement. chris > > > The worst is anxiety, a sort of jittery feeling, feeling itchy, uncomfortable in my body, can't sleep (it's 2am and every time I try to sleep my mind just whirls uncontrollably). I feel like I want to go for a run or something!! Believe me, this is NOT normal! It's like I've got loads of energy to burn off, I need to jump up and down or something. But it's also very jittery and anxious, quite an unpleasant feeling. > > I'm thinking, could it be too much NAX? Or too much NDT? Guest guest
Thanks both of you for your comments. Sounds like the NAX is the culprit. I had been doing pretty well up until the last few days, so maybe I will try halving the dose first and see if that solves it. I'm also taking liquorice and ginseng, which I've been taking for a couple of months now, so maybe that's kicking in and I'm just OD'ing on adrenal stuff! Can you recommend a cortex only supplement? > > I had a similar experience and then all those horrible symptoms stopped as soon as I stopped taking the NAX. Guest guest
Hi, yes, I take Adrenal Cortex Glandular by Nutri Meds. Its pretty expensive but I've really looked around plus checked with my nutritionist and we cant come up with a better quality/price/dose ratio option - if others know of one please let me know!! There are a couple of cheaper ones e.g. Thorne Research Adrenal Cortex, but that one is a very low dose so you would have to take a number of those to get the same dose as the Nutri Meds one - ultimately making it work out much more expensive. For two years I took Allergy Research Group Adrenal Cortex, but they stopped manufacturing it about a year ago. However, I have spoken to Nutri Link (the company that supplies Allergy Research products to UK) and Allergy Research are going to start making it again, although the date of when is currently unknown. As soon as they do I will be switching back to that one, as its a fansastic product and works out significantly cheaper than the Nutri Meds one. As neither contain any B vitamins, you may also want to replace the b Vitamins that are in the NAX. Again, I have asked my nutritionist about which b vit is the best option for me and on her advice have been taking this one http://www.allergyresearchgroup.com/Super-Vitamin-B-Complex-120-Caps-p-234.html Super Vitamin B Complex by Allergy Research Group (try getting it from Revital.com). Hope that is helpful. Am sure others may have different advice/preferences! Good luck. > > > > I had a similar experience and then all those horrible symptoms stopped as soon as I stopped taking the NAX. > > [Ed] >
Guest guest
If the symptoms started on increasing the ERFA, isn't it more likely to be the ERFA? Those symptoms sound hyperthyroid. I find NAX difficult to take because it contains a lot of B vitamins and they seem to cause bladder irritation, but I haven't noticed any of the symptoms that affected you. My brother introduce adrenal support very slowly and carefully because he got insomnia. He wondered whether he had a backlog of unused thyroid hormone, which suddenly the adrenal support enabled him to make use of. Miriam > Hi all, can anyone help me to work out what's going on with me? I've been taking NAX and erfa for the past few weeks and starting to feel much better. Been taking 2 NAX in the morning, and 1/2 grain erfa in the morning, another 1/2 in the afternoon. At the weekend I raised by another 1/2 grain but stopped again because I've started to have very odd symptoms. > > The worst is anxiety, a sort of jittery feeling, feeling itchy, uncomfortable in my body, can't sleep (it's 2am and every time I try to sleep my mind just whirls uncontrollably). Guest guest
i *think* iherb.com sell them mandimart.co.uk sell them but has limited stocks, and the price is higher than iherb (but no vat i guess) I'm not sure if www.revital.co.uk sells them, i think that they fall foul of the new european vitamin laws. chris > > Thanks both of you for your comments. Guest guest
>However, I got very confused about this when I spoke to Nutri as they told me that NAX does NOT CONTAIN ANY HORMONES. They double checked this with their senior nutritionist practitioner in charge and she confirmed that NAX does not contain any hormones at all and that they extract any hormones from the product. In fact she went so far as to say that it would be illegal for them to sell it if it contained hormones. I asked her why it does not spell this out on the packaging of the NAX, in the wame way that it does on the Nutri Thyroid, as the latter specicically says " hormone free " . She said that she didnt know. In the words of Judge Judy (nearly), " I don't believe them! " It may be that it has pro hormones or something in which convert to hormones maybe. Ross - author of the mood cure- mentions her clients found whole adrenal glandulars too stimulating. chris > > > However, I got very confused about this when I spoke to Nutri as they told me that NAX does NOT CONTAIN ANY HORMONES. Guest guest
I've asked GP to test these vits etc but she refused. She said she wants to rule out 'everything else' first. (She's testing me for diabetes and sleep apnoea.) I've halved the NAX and felt a bit more normal yesterday. I'll carry on playing by ear and hopefully it will become clear soon. Thanks for all the suggestions. (Sorry for not snipping the message short first time! I forgot!) Guest guest
Then why doesn't she rule out these minerals and vitamins first, which would be relatively cheap and quick to do rather than sending you to a hospital to see whether you are suffering with sleep apnoea - it is really worrying that we are our future appears to now lie in the hands of doctors who are concerned only with saving their surgery money. Guest guest
I know, Sheila. She basically made me feel like I was some kind of lunatic for wanting my vits tested - as if that was some kind of far out, ridiculously rare scenario that couldn't possibly apply to me! I will ask again, though, once the other tests are done with. > > Then why doesn't she rule out these minerals and vitamins first,
