Guest guest
I've read about a study for a lab test that allows researchers to separate a patient's bound IgE from free IgE, which is the only way to accurately test IgE once you're on the drug. Apparently, if your free IgE is still too high, the level of Xolair could be increased. I don't think the test is available yet commercially, but it may be worth it if your doctor could talk to someone at one of the drug companies to investigate. Meryl I've been on xolair for almost 9 months now. It has not helped me a single bit. In fact I am worse. My asthma, allergy, and sinusitis symtoms have increased significantly. My doctor wants to wait for another 3 months. If it hasn't worked by then he's going to pull the plug and stop the treatment. I guess this miracle drug was too good to be true. For those of you who it worked for I think its wonderful. I just wish it worked for all of us.

I am glad I hung in there. My suggestion is for you to tust your doctor and at give it more time. I am no longer on Prednisone. For me, it was worth the wait. Guest guest
, has your doctor looked into the possibility that you have other triggers for your asthma as well? I now know that anxiety is a HUGE trigger for me, and my doctors have given me daily meds to help with anxiety related attacks. Also, I have severe acid reflux, and I absolutely MUST take medication for that as well, it is a well known trigger. You can aspirate the acid without even knowing it, and it triggers serious attacks! Hang in there with the Xolair for those last three months like your doctor said. Hopefully it will help you. Have you tried other more conventional treatments, such as allergy shots? Just asking, sometimes someone else will say something that makes you say " ahhh HAH! " Good luck and keep fighting! -------Original Message------- From: Date: 11/04/05 09:41:57 Subject: [ ] Xolair may work for some, but not all I've been on xolair for almost 9 months now.
