I have MANY patients experiencing this. Some of the blue cross' have changed

their criteria. Some just want to save money. Have your physician appeal the

decision and request a hearing if need be. Some specialty pharmacies help in

the appeal process. Mine does and I am he one who does the 'leg work'. Just

have your doctor pursue it.

After two years of using xolair, blue cross has suddenly refused to

pay, citing my original ige test and skin test, without further

explanation. 2 other patients in my allergist's office just received

the same notice, one a few weeks after being " approved. " Blue Cross

has been paying up till now. My original tests met the Genentech FDA

approved criteria.

Anyone know what is going on? Anyone else experienced this? Any

suggestions, other than filing a grievance which I have done?

I think I would sit in the corner and cry. And then

raise a MASSIVE stick.

What a nightmare. I am so sorry. I feel bad. My

insurance company just told me to send them the bill,

no questions asked. But I am in Canada. And the wait

for an outpatient abdominal ultrasound is 11 months.

My doctor was so discouraged. She was like, well you

are not dying, but you have an acute abd problem that

cannot wait. Ergo, off to emerg I go, 3 hr wait not so

bad. Tummy is fine now. Got a colorectal surg consult

for which I will see the specialist in 2006 some

time....
