Guest guest
Ugh! I had an awful night last night. A Korean restaurant a block away from where we live burned down late last night, and we had the windows open. I woke up coughing violently (my ribs still hurt). Of all the things that set off my asthma, smoke is the WORST. Luckily, after we closed up the windows, turned all the air purifiers on and I took a couple of nebulizer treatments I was able to avoid a trip to the ER (a first for a smoke-initiated attack). I think it is the Xolair. After the 3rd shot, I thought I noticed slight improvement, but this is clearly an improvement compared to my last exposure to smoke. I get shot #4 Saturday. Hooray for Xolair! I'm really glad it helps with the smoke. We moved to the Seattle area from Houston, and this entire state seems to be made of wood, with a good portion of it going up in flames frequently. The air is also too cool and dry for me. The worst part is no air conditioning to filter outside air. BTW, does anyone notice any weird food cravings while they're on Prednisone? I was dying for lots and lots of leafy greens, like cabbage (especially kimchee), spinach and collard greens, and pickled veggies. Since most of those are healthy, I went ahead and indulged, especially with the spinach and collard greens. I just thought it was odd.
