Guest guest
Hmmm..This is interesting..I too have a middle son that was diagnosed at age 8 finally...with high functioning autism. he is now 19 and doing great. I know the strain it can put on you. Hard to deal with things like that when your constantly in pain. Just the frequent trips to doctors and therapists will wear you down, not to mention the emotional stress and worry for your son. I guess I'm lucky my back problems didn't start until about a year ago. My son is old enough now that he actually helps me quite a bit. I'll say this to you mom's with autistic sons and hope it's encouraging: Take them wherever you can for help. The more the better. Spend a lot of time teaching them yet include the other kids too. My son started therapy and special ed at age 5 months. At age 19, you would never know he had ever been diagnosed. Do keep a very close eye during the teen years. Mine did some dangerous stuff. I hope this has been encouraging for the future. I wish you and your family's the very best! =)
