Guest guest
Thanks to all of you for the good wishes. It really helps having this board to check in with. , way to go finding out about the program Xolair offers for the uninsured...I may need it in another couple of months, but regardless, it is good to know. I made the following last night, and it really helped clear out my sinuses. It tastes phenomenal, and it wasn't too expensive either. Greek Beef Stew 1 tbs extra virgin olive oil 1 1/2 lbs stew beef (the grocery had it already cut up and on sale this weekend, so it only cost me about $5) 2 tsp dried oregano 2-3 minced garlic cloves (about a tsp & a half of minced garlic, if you buy it that way) 1/2 cup red wine 2 tsp sugar 3/4 tsp cinnamon 2 tbs red wine vinegar 1 can stewed tomatoes 1 can low salt beef broth 3-4 whole cloves 3 cups sliced onion 1 cup chopped potato Salt & pepper the beef and brown it. Add oregano and garlic and cook for one minute. Stir in wine, sugar, salt, cinn., red wine vinegar, tomatoes and broth. Add red pepper flakes to taste, if you like. Cover, reduce heat & simmer one hour. Add onions & potatoes, bring to a boil. Lower heat to a simmer, cover and cook 45 min to an hour. Really, except for the cloves, it wasn't too expensive and it wasn't hard to make. You just need to give yourself 2 hours or so in advance. Be sure to have some kleenex handy while you're eating!
