Guest guest
That particular " test " was done on me about 1 year ago - at a health club that allowed the chiropractor to ask people to do this on the way into the club (there was also apparently a reduced introductory visit offered if you tested in some fashion in need of their assistance...) [if this type of test is to be done with any degree of accuracy, a biomechanics force plate has to be used to show force distribution and torque about the three orthogonal (perpendicular) axes. Even then, the interpretation of the data obtained is difficult and by no means conclusive, unless combined with several other concurrent tests under a variety of static and dynamic conditions. Mel Siff] I actually manage somehow to stand VERY evenly on both feet - the readings were within 1 lb of each other. But the way we stand might have plenty to do with the natural feedback our bodies work with when we lift - for example, as a competing PL, it's possibly that I stand more evenly than average too, due to the balance required to squat below parallel, or perhaps pushing off evenly in the deadlift - so such testing would not likely come up as uneven as the general populace? In any case, the person administering the test seemed quite surprised - and I think they EXPECT the results to be noticeably uneven - it's perhaps just a marketing tool? as for shoulder heights - muscles have a great deal to do with bone positioning as well.... the Phantom aka Schaefer, CMT, CSCS, competing powerlifter Denver, Colorado, USA. -----Original Message----- From: .G. Guest guest
Howdee, Chiropractic care helped me with many but not all of my issues. Please go to one who can offer you non surgical disc decompression. It is safe and painless. There are different types of chiropractors. Google this and see what kind seems right for you. Go find out, listening to what they say. If it seems wrong for you, then you don't have to return. God Bless ivan From: missygal1970 <angie360@...> Subject: Chiropractic Care? spinal problems Date: Monday, September 29, 2008, 10:18 AM As you know from my previous questions, I don't have any medical background. The more I read on the web & this group, the more I'd like to consider alternative therapy...in other words get a second opinion. I have a herniated C5/6, while it is better than 3 mos ago (less arm pain & less tingling in hand), the back pain persists when I go back to my previous activity. From what I'm reading, with microdisectomy, you have the potential of reherniation, no guarantees it will help with the back pain, etc. So I'm considering the Chiropractic route to see if I'll improve(before I go the surgery route). Has anyone tried chiropractic care and were you satisfied with the results? Any input, links, etc. will be appreciated. Ang
Guest guest
ANG, Just in my humble opinion...one who has back or neck problems should steer clear from manipulations with a chiropractor.the massage and ultrasound stuff is fine.but do not allow manipulation. Guest guest
I have done chiropractic care for my neck and upper back. The chiropractors that I know will not touch my lower back, except for one, and she was not able to abate my pain in the lower back. I think that if you have not had surgery that it won't hurt to try it. I also believe that once you have surgery on a particuliar area that it's best not to mess with it! Just my personal opinion of course! > > As you know from my previous questions, I don't have any medical > background.
