Pat,

That doesn't mean that you don't want to get out of

pain.

Your lucky if that works for you, obviously you have other issues at play and

that why you choose not to take stronger pain medication and thats your choice.

For me I went about 2 years of serious agonizing pain coming from my SI joint

and sciatica and it was only until this summer when after trying so many other

pain meds that were non narcotic the physiatrist group per scribed the low dose

percs.

I take them sparingly and they were work for my pain. My pain was so bad I

couldn't go to work or get out socially or interact much with my husband and now

I can -with the appropriate pain meds, so for me, they work. I like to be out

of pain.

Speak for yourself.

I take a Tylenol or 800mg Ibuprofen.

I am a recovering alcholic/addict of 14-1/2 years and have never had

to take any major pain meds.

Damn I hurt a lot sometimes.

Narcotics are simply no longer a part of my life...

Pat,

I would consider you lucky if you feel as though your pain has never

required any strong pain meds. Many of us without the strong pain meds

would be bedridden and unable to function. In these cases drugs give us

back our lives. This is very contrary in the disease of addiction, that

takes away your productiveness and takes away your life.
