Guest guest
I have been newly diagnosed with Adrenal Fatigue/ Exhaustion(as well as hypothyroisism and metabolic disorder). This is due to the tremendous and unrelenting stress I've endured over the past seven years, and chronic pain and several back surgeries. Thsi is one of the most debilitating and underdiagnosed disorders that is most common in this century than ever before, due to our industrialized society and high stress lifestyles. I think that everyone who's been dealing with chronic pain and illness, lack of sleep and health problems and stress, should consider this...especially women who are at a higher risk. SYMPTOMS... FATIGUE!!! Lethargy Dizziness Headaches Memory Problems " Fuzzy Thinking " Low Concentration Carb or salt cravings Hypoglycemia Allergies Frequent flu or colds Anxiety Depression Weight Gain Usually tired in Am after a good night's sleep, sluggish in afternoon between 2-4 and have more energy in PM Insomnia Hair Loss Reliance on Stimulants like coffee Intolerance to cold Also commonly coupled with Hypothyroisism. To test for this, the doc has you take an ACTH challenge testas well as a physical exam. You should see an endocrinologist if adrenal fatigue is suspected. Primary Care docs are just not informed to pick up on this common disorder. ---
