Guest guest
As long as we are recommending sites. I would like to add: www.butyoudontlooksick.com/boards in their Social Security Section. I post to that group, mainly to assist with state aids. I used Carolyn's system of writing out how my illness effected my ability to work. I credit them with being approved in less than 3 months. Some people have been approved in under a month. Remember, It's not just what you have healthwise going on, but also and more importantly how that illness has effected your ability to do any work. That's not just the job you have or had, but any job that pays over the Substandial Gainfull Activity level, which is $940. for 2008 and going up a bit for 2009. It will really help to document what you could do before, and what you can do now. Also, another bit of advice. Do not be polite, and put on a happy face in your application. The reason why you can't work is because of your bad days, not your good one. You need to document your bad days. If you go to a Doctor for SSA, dress as you normally do. That appointment is not the one to rest up for, dress up, or put make up on. You want to let that doctor see you as you normally are. I'd want the doctor to remain standing and functional for my visit, as I certainly couldn't pick them up off the floor if they fainted.
