Guest guest
Hi , My name is Lin and my son gets allergy shot plus xolair shots as well.. My son has experienced the same thing one time when he got his allergy shots.. What i usually do for my son is give him a benadryl pill when we get home then hes fine. but also what ive been doin too is before we go get his shots is give him a benadryl pill about 30 minutes before we go to get the shots and that works... My son also reached his maintenance dosage now too. i havent gave him any benadryl either before any of his shots and his arm hasnt been red or wheeled either. so im very blessed by that... I know with my son, he hasnt had any problems with his allergy being red or anything, so i would just watch and see how you do with yours. My son has never had any kind of reaction to the xolair shots at all since been getting them. I hope that has answered your question... good luck to you... god bless you and have an asthma free day... Guest guest
, I really dont know actually. You will have to see for your self. Everyone is different. My sons dr. was telling me the Xolair doesnt have anything to do with the allergy shots. they are supposed to work together to help with breathing and allergies. so we are seeing how this is going to work here. Now this past week for the allergy shots he didnt have any redness or wheeled area where he got his shot, but i always keep a benadryl in my purse just in case. never can be to sure whats goin to happen. I guess you will have to watch and see what happens , when your Xolair kicks in and starts working... best of luck with the xolair... Have a asthma free day... god bless.. I'm curious if this will be kind of a first sign that it's beginning to work. Do you see what I mean? I take antihistamines several times a day, and this helps reduce the local reactions to the allergy shots a little bit, but I still have local reactions every single time. Like Addy, I cannot reach a " true " maintenance dose because of increasing symptoms afterward. I had to stop at a maintenance dose which is only about halfway through the second to the last vial (.35 - yellow vial). My doctor hopes that he will be able to begin increasing my allergy shot dose again once the Xolair kicks in. To reiterate, I am not concerned about the local reactions at all. This is normal for me, and is to be expected because of how sensitive I am. I just want to know if Xolair has reduced local reactions to allergy shots for anyone. Thanks again! --------------------------------- How low will we go? Check out Messenger’s low PC-to-Phone call rates.
Guest guest
Reminder: Since I returned from the National Jewish Hospital I now have a good contact for asthma questions. IF anyone has any specific asthma questions send them to me and I will pass them on to the physician there at the hospital. I will post all his responses to the questions. ~STEVE ZIMMERMAN, CPM, CVOM~ ________________________________ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of no1friend621 Sent: Friday, August 18, 2006 1:03 PM Subject: Re: [ ] Re: Question about Xolair & allergy shots , I really dont know actually. Guest guest
Hello Lin and , My son also gets allergy shots plus Xolair. He went through the redness and swelling with the allergy shots and actually hated getting them over the Xolair, but now he does not have any type of reaction at all. no1friend621 <no1friend621@...> wrote: Hi , My name is Lin and my son gets allergy shot plus xolair shots as well..
