Guest guest
Hi Addy, I am considering doing the allergy shots again along with the Xolair because of what I read about the Xolair being overwhelmed if the patients IGE levels are too high and they don't want to use more Xolair than what has been used in clinical trials because they don't know what the side effects may be at higher doses. My IGE is 1273! This is the highest I have heard of so far. I am on 375mg of Xolair every two weeks. The last four days before the next shots I get congested, the first four days after the shots I am congested so I get six days feeling better. This may improve as I was off the shots for a couple of months due to the left ear hearing loss and not knowing what caused it. It may have been a repercussion of the Meningitis from last Feb, I just don't know. It happened in April of this year after being on Xolair for three months. I go to the Neurotologist in Sept. From what I understand, what the xolair doesn't handle the leftover IGE can be taken care of by the Allergy shots. When I was on the Allergy Shots before I felt worse for a few days after each shot but it wasn't until I stopped them that I noticed they had been helping.
