Guest guest
I belong to several groups. This is why I am including my various concerns all in one post. I just know you all are extremely thrilled! Heh Heh. Saw my Neurologist today who will, from now on, be handling several of my illnesses, especially my giant cell arteritis (GCA). I hadn't had SED nor CRP bloodwork taken in 3 months under the treatment of my Rheumatologist so this is why I sought out my Neurologist. My Rheumatologist (whos been treating me for GCA since last July) exclaimed because, " You're feeling okay... " , that did not warrant any bloodwork. She bases her actions on my symptoms. Odd thing is - when I saw her 4 days ago I advised her how my right temple had been hurting for a few days and was quite sensitive. THIS is a brand new symptom and sends up a red flag, especially when I initially presented months ago with left temple symptoms! My SED today is 31 where the high end reference range is 30. My CRP was nearly 3x higher then normal at 28.10 when the high end is 11.00. My Neuro upped my Prednisone from my current 7.5 to 15mg for 1 week, then 12.5 after that. I will see her again in 2 weeks and we'll go from there. I've also had lower back pain which began 2 weeks ago and continues to get worse; so my Neurologist had me take a series of special xrays with results yet to arrive. I will reveal this is the oddest pain I've ever felt. It almost feels like my lower back in to my left butt is being 'pulled'.....pulled apart? And no, no pain down my leg. When I stand, I almost have to lean backwards to relieve the discomfort. Now I have gained weight due to the Prednisone as well as Lyrica, so maybe this is stretching me to my limit???? Ahahahaha - couldn't resist. :~~ As far as my recent bone density test, my Neuro says because my osteoporosis is mild, not to worry. And the lesions I have on my scalp are being treated as if I have MRSA. Just another routine day at the Medical Building - LOL. :~~
