Hi Sharon ,A rhizotomy is where the Dr. goes in and burns the nerve, or nerve

bundles to provide pain relief. My brother has had it done several times in his

back. He usually gets 6 to 12 months pain relief from having it done. Of course

it's like everything else, different for everyone who has it done.

Hope your horse is doing ok. Take care and be safe.

Hi everyone, I'm going to be scheduled for a Rhizotomy most likely for next

week. I've heard many different procedure names like abalation, a radio

frequency procedure, neurotomy, but I don't think I've heard this one, is this

the same as one of the others?  I've googled it and have read some stuff but I

was wondering if anybody here has ever had one and if you can tell me what to

expect?

Thanks!
