Guest guest
I have bulging lumbar discs, although I'm not sure which ones. What you're talking about as far as the pain is concerned matches my situation quite accurately. My primary doctor for the longest time kept telling me the problem was mild stenosis from arthritis, nothing to get upset about. I tried flexeril and everything else pssobile. Didn't like the muscle relaxants because they just put me to sleep and although I'm without pain at that time, what good does it do? When I wake up, the pain is still there. Motrin and other NASIDs aren't possible because I take cumidin for a DVT in my left leg. Anyway, the pain management specialist told me I had the bulging discs. I had my first nerve block/cortisone shot today and while my back is still sore, I can move about much much more easily than I had been able to do just a few hours before. Believe me, I'm not overdoing it. The only problem I'm encountering is that my blood sugar levels are higher than normal. I'm diabetic but am not yet on any medications. I'll continue to watch the levels and if they go way high, I'll call my primary doctor. The doctor and his staff told me I can get three shots within a year. They didn't say anything about rhree shots within six weeks. I have an appointment to go back in two weeks and depending on how I feel at the time, the doctor will decide whether I'd need another shot. It would be scheduled at that time and with my work schedule and the availability of someone to go with me, the second shot would most likely not be done within the six week time frame you're talking about. Like you, I have only myself to depend upon for my mortgage, bills, etc. I can't quit my job as a hospital housekeeper, although getting down to clean under beds, swing a mos, etc., was getting difficult. But so far, I'm happy with the results of my procedure. We'll see what tomorrow brings in West Virginia Who's getting ready for a holiday with family

Guest guest
I just have a little input on this subject, I have severe OSA, among multiple spinal problems, chronic pain... One thing they told me was most anything will effect you sugar level, stress from pain. When I had surgery to place a trach in for the OSA my level was well over 350, after I got use to the new devise and settled down, now mine stay below 150 most the time. Even some meds will make it increase. While I was in the hospital for the trach, they had me on insulin, now I take actoplusmet once a day. george The dog has seldom been successful in pulling man up to its level of sagacity, but man has frequently dragged the dog down to his..
