Guest guest
Welcome Regina! This group will provide you with a wealth of information and support. BTW, is your doctor allopathic or naturapathic? Where are you located? It's very unusual for a doctor to recommend the blood type diet. You are in good hands! Welcome again! Jannette Hi my name is Regina and I am new here. I am O- and my doctor has suggested the Eat right for your blood type diet. I have acid reflux really bad --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. You really don't know how toxic you are until you rid yourself of all of the avoids. Don't wait until you're in ICU like I did or getting your esophagus cut out like my cousin who now sleeps sitting up. He REALLY has to be careful with reflux. Guest guest
Hi Jolley - it comes down self love. If you don't think you are worth it then we can't say much to convince you. The body IS a machine. You have to give it the right fuel. Your car gets the right octane doesn't it? So why not do the same for yourself? I hope you don't care more for your car then yourself! Just do it - if you were " " " picky " " " you'd be picking the right stuff. Not poison. For a fee I'd be willing to call you daily to reprogram your mind. What do you say? Are we here for you or what? Love Re: I am new I see a naturapathic doctor. He recommeneded this diet and swares I will feel better and my acid reflux will go away. Guest guest
Even though i do believe in this diet, I don't look at the body as a machine. Although you may have said that cause you needed to give her an analogy. /Cool. But even so, I'm definitely looking into the PERCEPTION " THEORY " on health. You can do a lot of non-chemical/food- related activities to defeat problems like the symptoms of hypoglycemia and body pain. But I'm not sure I can even explain it. I'd believe the body was a " machine " if i didnt see people doing " AVOID " activities & diets while living " healthy long lives. " Contradictions everywhere, argh!!!! > Hi Jolley - it comes down self love. If you don't think you are worth it > then we can't say much to convince you. The body IS a machine. Guest guest
Regina, Try dropping one avoid at a time, and don't even buy it if you can help it. Try to take the attitude that avoids are like poisons. Now that I know I'm getting rid of them one by one. This way your body more easily adjusts and it is easier not to feel deprived when you see that avoid in the store. Read all labels, and if you have any questions, we'll be glad to answer to the best of our knowledge. Regina wrote: >...a naturapathic doctor. Guest guest
-Yes it did, by not eating the foods that were poisoning me. My stomach doesnt have the acid problems anymore and other things have gotten better also. My reflux was so bad most nights I had to sit in a chair and sleep upright. Also I couldnt sleep on my side because I would almost get sick. But do it slowly, take one step at a time. I believe its a life long goal. And for me it didnt take me overnight to become the food person I was,and this is getting better with cravings and things I thought I couldn't live without, I now can. I started this June . I have lost 40lbs since march of this year and over all 56lbs total. My goal is 80lbs when Im finish. But mostly this is for health reasons. -- In @y..., " Jolley Feathers " <jolley1@j...> wrote: > Hi , > Did going on this diet make your acid reflux go away? > > Regina > Re: I am new > >
Guest guest
That is really great . I hope that I can get on this diet and start feeling better and and get rid of this acid reflux. It is making me really sick. I guess the hardest part is just knowing where to start. I need to make a list of what I can eat and just go grocery shopping and not get anything that is not on that list. Guest guest
Yes the weight loss will be nice as well I can say that being on this list and reading emails from everyone is making me more exited about trying. But I know when I get up in the morning it will all be the same. I will be in hurry, no breakfast once again and donunts at work.. so the cycle starts all over and I blow my diet all day long right now my way of eating is just easy.. but it is making me sick. I get to work have two donuts.. for lunch it is the local deli of either a sandwich or burger. For dinner it is what ever is quick and easy because I am tired from working all day and eating poorly. I guess you could say I am in a food rut and I can't seem to get out. I guess I wish that somehow magically my menu would appear before me and I would like everything on it and all the food for it would be in my cupboard. Silly, huh? Guest guest
-I know its hard, nothing about this will be easy. It gets easier the more you know and the food you choose. Im not 100% perfect but I must try because the ultimate goal is I can play with my Grandchildren and watch them grow up. Almost Two Years ago I was heading for a wheelchair and maybe a home. I look at myself and didnt like myself and how sick I was all the time. And no doctor, friend or anyone could help me but me. I deceided I wanted to live and choose what kind of life was I going to have not my body or someone dictating to me how I was going to live. I know the donuts are easy I was there also, I had a girl in my office that could eat anything she wanted and didnt gain an ounce. But I would eat and it showed. I got up to 212lbs, three pounds less than my husband. This is the first time that I can say Im proud of myself and no one did it but me. So hang in there, dont give up, it takes time. Like I said before you didnt get that way overnight and you wont lose it either. But you will start to feel better and things will get better for you. Hang in there and by the way Im only 44 and I have had 18 surgeries on my body to keep me going. And this surgery doesnt hurt and the recovery time is wonderful. Guest guest
Max I know you are so right. I am already taking stomach pills and medication for anxity, etc. I keep asking myself how far it has to go before I wake up and just start this diet. How many times do I have to wake up and feel like I can't breath because the acid reflux is so bad. I am 33 years old now and I started drinking alchol basically from the time I could walk and steal it at my parents partys. I started to drink heavy at the age of 13 and finally stopped a month after my 21st birthday. I have to say that stopping drinking was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do but changing my diet has proven to be harder for me. I guess because you need to eat food to survive and when you just get so use to eating one way it is hard to change that. I think I can handle doing this diet for lunch and dinner. I have even gotten some Ezekal bread! I am having a hard time with breakfast ideas. I would like to have something that is easy, that I can just grab and go with. Something I don't need to cook and something that is breakfast.. not the night befores dinner. Right now donuts don't cut it! They hit the spot for the moment but then turn right into acid reflux. So yes I know you are so right in what you say. I keep telling myself I am ready to do this diet but then turn right around and blow it before I even start it. Thanks for listening Regina Jolley Re: Re: I am new > In a message dated 11/21/2002 1:38:22 AM Eastern Standard Time, > jolley1@... writes: > > << I guess I wish that somehow magically my menu would appear before > me and I would like everything on it and all the food for it would be in my > cupboard. Guest guest
Thank you , Your words do make me feel better. I am 33 and the doctors are talking about surgery for the acid reflux. They have already taken out my gall bladder. I started seeing this natrupathic doctor because I dont want sugery.. but hey he was suppose to give me a magic pill and make it all better and I could still eat what I wanted! Take a protein snack to eat when you want that donut. I know that many on this list disagree with me but what worked for me was immediate, complete compliance. I'm a little obsessive-compulsive. To nibble away at it is to lose because that donut is always there and if you're going to have just a small piece of candy or a little sandwich why not the donut. Before you know it, it's a box of donuts with milk or coffee to wash it down and a Big Mac on the way home. Then it's you talking to someone about this great diet you failed at 6 months ago. Believe me. I do it all the time. It is so easy to fall off of the diet. The difference between you and me is that I know what WELL feels like. Not being well is uncomfortable to me. So I quit cheating. You don't know the difference because you haven't gone 100% yet. Wait until you go a week without any reflux or bloated feeling. It's like getting oxygen. People with the " except fors " tickle me. They're on the diet EXCEPT FOR coffee or ice cream or potatoes or etc. The trouble is that if you're constantly eating an avoid you're not feeling the full benefits of the diet or the extent of the damage. I am an " except for " off and on. My killer is coffee. It beckons me if I'm tired. It's in every office building, workshop, and most homes. The difference is that I know it and fight it. Since I fight it, it's a seriously bad avoid for me and makes me sicker than a dog. I could peel paint with the stomach acid. If I constantly drank it, it wouldn't effect me nearly as much because my body would adjust to it. I'd just feel tired and a little sick at the end of the day. The damage would still be being done; I'd just not notice as much. You'd think I'd figure it out. I do it infrequently now and will beat it eventually. Regina, this diet is hard at first. We have to find and cook our own foods. Examine every morsel we eat, avoid restaurants, friends concoctions, parties, bars, processed foods, etc. You have to go to the HFS. " Periphery " shop at the grocery (around the outside--LOL). You have to be committed but once you feel the health come back you won't even notice the extra work. It's a long journey, take that first step. Max
Guest guest
OH eggs! I never thought of that. I like hardboiled eggs. And maybe a piece of fruit? Okay I am starting to get more excited about this. I am so ready to be done with this acid reflux! It is more then just a little burning feeling I get. It actually makes me dizzy, light headed and makes me feel like I am going to passout, makes me feel like I can't breath and the list just goes on. Okay tonight I am cooking eggs! Thanks! Guest guest
I also wanted to add Max that I am just like you described yourself to be. If I cheat with this little bit over here I will give in somewhere else later. I think my two hardest things will be bread and Dr. Pepper. I like you with your coffee use Dr. Pepper to wake up. So I am sure I will have some " oops " with that. Bread is a hard one for me because I like to have a sandwich for lunch. It is quick and easy. But I got the ezikal bread and today I got some roast beef. I goofed though and got Swiss Cheese instead of Mozzerlla so I need to change that. Well I think I am about ready to start this.. wish me luck! Guest guest
Regina, Do you have a Forman Grill? I can cook an nice meal with my grill in 5 min or less. Throw on the meat, make a salad, steam veggies in the micro. Quick and easy! Some days I just throw everything in my crockpot and rush out the door. And when I get home it is ready! I also have no time for breakfast so I make Spritein protein drink with rice milk, pour it in a paper cup and drink it on my way to work. Lunch is usually a salad or left overs from last night.
