Guest guest
From my experience, my lumbar surgery was 04.18.08 and from what I have read elsewhere, we are apparently experiencing what is normal. Some people have the surgery and never have any more symptoms or problems and some people are like us. They still have spasms and nerve pain. It may have been that you were like me and waited to long to have the surgery. In that case the nerve damage may be permanent. I was wondering what the pain level after is for anyone who has had this procedure done. I still get nerve pain shooting down my right leg a couple times a week, sometimes more(also have pain sometimes in my left leg). I also still have tightness in my leg and my back. Some days the tingling in my last 3 toes will be there and sometimes it won't. The pain is no where near where it was before my surgery, but I just wonder am I just settling for what I have now since it's not like it was or should I be feeling better than I am since it has been 8.5 months. I'm just worried... Lori in MI
Guest guest
I know I waited to long to have my surgery.... but it didn't help that they had to do it twice in a months time. Just before my second surgery, they gave me injections in my spine. It immediately took away my numbness down my leg and big toe. When I got into my room, somebody from physical therapy decided to come and fit me for a back brace before my surgery. They put it on me and tightened it up nice and snug..... the pain and numbness instantly came back, and I told them " ohhh darn, you guys just undid everything that injection just did for me " Never went away after surgery either, still have it. Darn it! > > From: Lori Brewer <lbrew722@...> > Subject: Question...L5-S1 > spinal problems > Date: Sunday, December 28, 2008, 2:43 PM > > > > > > > > I had a lumbar discectomy at L5-S1 on April 10, 2008.
