Guest guest
That brings up an interesting point. If Xolair costs $55,000 a year, it won't take long to use up insurance, and then where will we be? This is a worrisome expense, but I'm keeping my options open. I just got a call from a company that is supposed to be looking into how much it all will cost me. But I'm still worried about insurance. What if I solve the asthma and end up with another disease and no insurance to pay for treatment. Carol wrote: I nearly fell out of my chair. My nurse was telling me about 1 pt who is getting Xolair free from the government (55,000$ a year) and she didn't show up for her first shot! I cannot understand people! Guest guest
I've thought a lot about this. I think that in the next couple of years we will see the price of Xolair go down. I expect they are working on a less expensive way to administer it. After all, part of our cost covers transporting a very fragile component that must be refrigerated, and of course the specialty pharmacy fees. And some of us are being charged storage fees and shot admin fees by our doctors. (Not me - they've been very good about that.) I've heard somewhere that Genentech/Novartis are trying to get it to an epi-pen type form, but I can't remember where I heard that. One disease at a time, I guess, but when it comes right down to it, I don't care. If I can't breathe who cares what else is wrong with me? Good luck with your insurance, Carol! Guest guest
I have decided breathing is not an option for me. On Jan 22, 2006, at 6:27 AM, pyle456 wrote: > I've thought a lot about this. Guest guest
Well Im glad that at least someone is being helped our Insurance thru a company called WEYCO out of Michigan is a farce. They still deem it all experimental and have denied all of our bills for the initial testing. So we are in the hole 1800 dollars to our local St Joeseph mercy systems. " mercy " huh my butt. ----- Original Message ----- From: Carol Corley Sent: Saturday, January 21, 2006 10:00 PM Subject: Re: [ ] Perfect!!! That brings up an interesting point.
