My husband had propofol for a kidney stone, and he had all kinds of troubles!

(long story!) He was given propofol on top of morphine for pain (before the

surgery), & the anesthetist didn't take into account that he had morphine in his

body! I'm lucky that he is still here!!

Glad to hear is improving! Wow--released tomorrow--that's very good. Hope

she saw Kathy while she was still there.

Hi...

I got sprung from the hospital yesterday. I was glad to be out, but wasn't

really prepared for how much more work it is to have relatively less help. It

was a rough night, but I think tonight should be less tramatic. I have yet to

read any posts, but hope to do that later today once I put my contact lenses in.

Thanks for all the support.

Regards,

It's finally daylight here, so that long first night at home has come and gone.

If you've been through it before, you know that I mean.

As it turns out, we get some very heavy duty drugs during nerve monitoring

sessions. I think they do this so that one's body does not react in wild ways

to the heavy jolts. Those drugs, especialy propofol, build up in the fat cells

of the body. Dr. Berven was too kind to say it, but I definitely have a few too

many of those! Groggy doesn't begin to describe my condition on Friday and

Saturday. By Sunday, I was still very groggy, but definitely felt some

improvement.

Thanks so much for all the kind calls and notes. It was always nice beging

reminded of others who have come before me, most of which have made it safely to

the other side. :)

Kathy totally 1-upped me by walking into my hospital room yesterday morning.

She was less than 24 hours postop. She was in a lot of pain, but wanted to stop

in before I left. I tried to hook her up with another really nice revision

patient of Dr. Hu's, who also just had surgery. Hope they got introduced.

Thanks again y'all!

I'm glad to hear you went home so soon! Man, Dr. Hu and Dr. Berven must be

miracle workers--6 days post-op!! I spent 2 wks. in the hosp. for my TWO

revisions!

I guess Kathy is doing well, also! The day after her surgery, and she went

walking! I am now convinced that Dr. Hu IS A MIRACLE WORKER!

From her 1st stage surgery, she will probably go home in a few days! LOL!! Is

there somebody that can update us as to how Kathy is doing? , or

somebody? Thanks, I would appreciate the info.!!

Can I just say that.... " YOU ROCK " !!!!!

Home and on the computer. Wow.

I know that you are probably spending lots of time sleeping and hating every

minute of it....but just give in to it and let your body heal. It will pay you

back later on.

I hope that you have lots of little helpers through out the day checking in on

you. Glad to hear that Kathy has gotten up and around already too....thanks for

her update. Thats wonderful.

Now rest.

Take Care, Cam

HI ,

So glad you're on the other side and done with the after effects of

anesthesia, and getting used to being in a home environment. Your

next job, so to speak, is to take it nice and slow and not overdo. I

know you know everything there is to know about what to do to ensure a

good recovery, but everyone seems to need a reminder to take it easy.

Slow and easy wins this race. You have nothing to prove to anyone. I

am sure you will do just fine. Keep us posted, please.
