Doc Cronen is also in Tampa, and i just had a successful revision with him. But i too am having a lot of hip pain, but was assured this was due to the new pelvic anchors that were put in.

So i am just trying to take it easy now. Everyone on the site gave me heck for doing to much to soon and i am a slow learner.

Good luck and Cronen is wonderful. He studied under Bridwell and is both knowledgeable and compassionate.

Hi all,I haven't posted often but in the last few months, my physical problems seem to have increased greatly. My hips are always painful, I have very frequent sciatica and my hip flexors are also causing problems. There are times that one of my hips almost gives out totally and I have to hold on to something so I don't fall. Sleeping is becoming difficult because of the pain. Did any of you who have seen a revision specialist and/or had surgery experience any of these symptoms? Of course my posture is somewhat bent over, I seem to have breathing problems and I seem to hurt all over.I haven't seen anyone yet because I still have no health insurance, although I will have Medicare in November. I'm ready to make an appointment and pay out-of-pocket (big bucks, I'm sure), but just wanted some input from any of you. Dr Moreno in Tampa, FL is the closest revisionist to me, so I'd love comments about him from any of you as well. Thanks

everyone. This is kinda scary....Marcia Lawson

Hi Marcia,

I see Dr. Rand in Boston. It seems when everything is fused top to bottom, the next thing to go are the hips. I saw a hip specialist Dr. Rand recommended just to check on the overall health of my hips. I am not having the same issues as you are or know where your fusions are but in my case, the only thing that moves now is my hips. Maybe you can get some injections on your hips to help manage the pain until your medicare part A and B kicks in. I do not know of your Doc down there, but a consult might be wise. After all, being informed of your options is always good.

Thanks for your info. I have heard wonderful things about Dr Rand and being a

native of the area, I'm almost tempted to hop on Southwest for a quick flight to

Boston for his opinion. I have a good friend in the area and could probably

sleep on her couch for a night or 2.

My fusion was in 1995, T3-L4 and I have done considerably well until the past 6

months. I will continue to do my research and hopefully make a decision soon on

what to do. Thanks again for your post.

Thanks for telling me about Dr Cronen. I had never heard of him before. I'm

going to make a lot of calls and do lots of research before I choose my path to

possible revision.

Thanks again,

Marcia
