Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I wanted to check in today and report on my three year check up with Dr; Bridwell. Everything looked great on the X-rays, and I am feeling wonderful, also. My back is basically pain free, and I still can hardly believe it. Dr. Bridwell said that I can bend a little bit more now, but not to over do it. I have a one year old grandson and I am so thankful to be able to pick him up and hold him. I don't have to return for two years, so I will see him for my five year check up. I feel that he is a fantastic doctor. I have finally recovered from my hip revision surgeries and dislocations....I was going to PT every week to try to help the pain I still had in my hip when I sat over 1/2 hour. Well, about 6 weeks ago, I fell flat on my face on concrete and my hips moved in an odd way.....since then, I have had NO pain in my hip!!!! My doctor said that the fall broke apart scar tissue that had built up due to the multiple surgeries and dislocations!! He said that he didn't want me to fall again, but this did work out great!! You never know!! My nose took the brunt of the fall, but I have no lasting problems! I wish that everyone could have such a great recovery as I have. I am very thankful for this board and all of the help it provides. I would be happy to mentor someone who is facing this surgery. I met a girl today when we were waiting for X-rays today..she is having surgery on Thursday with Dr. Bridwell, and I was so happy to be able to encourage her and her parents. It brought all of those feelings back to me, and we all can use all the help we can get. Thank you so much and my best to everyone,

Guest guest
Hey , Congratulations on your 3 year check up. I am sorry to hear that your face took the brunt of your fall....but thank god some good came of it. Remarkable that something clicked back in to position! I think the issue of scar tissue formation for our spines (and really any surgery) is perhaps more pervasive than we know and the source of lots of problems. I think its one area that offers a huge potential for resolving left over pain issues...unfortunately the doctors are still learning how to manage it. Anyway....please check in more often! Guest guest
Hi , I can't believe that you just had your 3 year check up. Congratulations! It seems like yesterday that you and Dan were giving Bill and me so much love, support, and encouragement prior to my revision with Dr. Bridwell. I am still very grateful for the time we spent together. It helped more than you will ever know. Your so right, we all need as much help as we can get to make it through this journey we are undertaking.I am sorry about your fall.....but what an outcome! I know your hips have been such problems to you. I hope that all of the medical stuff is behind you and that you have many years of good health and happiness. You deserve them. I don't know of anyone that has such a good attitude. Whoever you mentor will be lucky to have you by their side.
