Guest guest
Hello, my name is Stavroula and I am new to this forum. I would like to inform you about my condition and ask you if any of you have the same problem. I am 38 years old and I had a spinal surgery for scoliosis (27 years ago) from T3 to L2 with Harrington Rod instrumentation. I never had any problems since then, I have 4 daughters which I gave natural birth and I had a full time program. I just forgot about having a problem. The last 8 months I am experiencing problems, I had a CT because I am not sure if I can have an MRI which showed bulging of discs under the fusion and osteorthritis. From then I have back pain especially in the muscles of the left sight. I am afraid of the possibiliy having flat back syndrome. I visited a neurologist who consulted me that I should work less hours (part time) in order to protect myself and that I should have more physiotherapy (exercises in order to alleviate my pain and strengthen my muscles). I would like to inform you that I have visited Scoliosis SOS clinic in London for 4 weeks, where I did exercises 7 hours per day and I have strengthened my muscles. I am trying to do the exercises at home and I visit physiotherapists in order to alleviate my pain. After 6 months time they need a renewal of this report which will state that she needs permanent modification in her working hours as her problems will never get better and our goal is to stabilize the progress. I don't know exactly what to do as I have also to take care of my 3 children. Do you have any experience if the condition can stay stable and do you know if there is a legislation that protects the people who have this kind of problems so that they can work part time. I have a managerial position and this make things much more difficult. Thank you Stavroula
